Letters "C.D." inside wreath, King's Crown
Submitted for your consideration is a gilding metal/brass badge, letters "C.D." inside wreath surmounted by a King's Crown. It measures 42 mm (1.6 inches) high X 36 mm (1.4 inches) wide. It is quite robust in construction. The reverse has two wire loop retaining lugs.
Any information on the identification, date and use of this insignia would be appreciated. Thank you. with kindest regards to all, Tim |

Hi Bill,
Thank you. Though, as French friend of mine would say: "Eeets possibel, mais....." and then give the famous Gallic shrug. It may well be Civil Defence as you surmise, which makes sense. Let us hope that someone will be able to give a certain ID. A very useful clue , which is appreciated. |
