Help to ID Irish patch

Can anybody please help ID this patch that was picked up in South Africa many years ago.

have looked in my books on irish badges and cant find it.
you said it was bought in south africa,so i can only guess thats it south africian, possibly 2nd south africian irish.

A 2nd battalion to the South African Irish Regiment was proposed but never formed. Not seen this flash before.
