Default Help with unknown Chaplains Badge

Hi,
I have been told by various collectors that this 3-piece badge was worn by chaplains duing the Boer War. Could someone confirm this or possibly identify is origin and use.

All 3 pieces are of white metal, very thin but quite strong. Attachment via wires. The cross badge appears fairly regular on the market in South Africa, the Victorian crown less frquently and the wreath is almost impossible to find.

Regards
Steven

Interesting badge Steven, the laurel and oak leaves could have been the inspiration for the 1930 pattern cap badge.

Hi Steven
The cross with ribbon is the same style as the Salvation Army cross, though a different motto. It may have something to do with the SA rather than military.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the SA stance. I had similar feelings but did not want to influence opinions and was waiting for someone to suggest same.

I have made attempts to find out more re. Salvation Army insignia but have not been able to come up with conclusive info.

Hopefully someone on the forum is able to positively identify it.

Regards
Steven

EXCELLENT. Thanks for the positive ID of these items. This dilemma can now be laid to rest and I can let others who have this know of its true function.
