Default silver a/a grenade cb

I would welcome identification of this collar badge.
It is silver anodised aluminium but with two prongs or blades at rear, unlike the usual loops.
I am unsure if it is British although it did come among other british insignia.
The dark background may have affected the contrasting glare but I am loth to remove as the blades are fragile.

Well anodised is my thing but isn't familiar to me. The shape of the grenade is similar to the Inniskilling fusiliers, but isn't that. A photo of the rear where the blades meet the badge may help - but again the north south blades do not present as usual British military badges that I am familiar with.

Sorry - cant really help. I note that you are Malta based - could be anything local to you? Malta artillery collar grenades have a wider flame though and of course the strap at the bottom. I note scratches on the front of the grenade.

Similar looking to a Dutch military police, but don't think its that either.

Not much help, sorry.

All the best

Bess

Thanks, Bess, for your comments.
Grenade looks very British to me, but the blades are totally alien to British collars.

There is no Malta connection either. Even so, grenade is differently designed.

Dowler & Sons did a series of display boards for the army divisions with this type of fitting [not army issue] I have 2 examples in my album I suspect that they may have one for the Fusiliers Division

Incidentally, I recent;y saw online a board of Lancs Fus badges & titles. There was a pair of similar grenades but in white metal and with normal fixing loops. Unsure if they were meant as collars or for wear above titles.
