Default Possible CCF cloth beret badge?
Gents,
recent find in the £1 box. Could this be a cloth beret badge for any of the CCF units incorporating a Bishops Mitre in their design?

Any thoughts welcome.

The motto " Vincet Amor Patriae" is used by Archbishop Holgate's Grammar School , they also used a Bishop's Mitre as their logo on school uniforms but can't find an exact match to your patch.

1918 Army List has "Archbishop Holgate's Grammar School Cadet Corps" as affiliated to The Prince of Wales Own (West Yorkshire Regiment).

1939 Air Force List (Air Defence Cadet Corps) has "No. 116 (Archbishop Holgate's Grammar School)."

I don't think it is CCF but likely to be school uniform.

Im sure youre right Alan - was just a thought. Too small for a school blazer badge though.
