Default Transkei Mounted Rifles

Recently I acquired a shoulder title to the 19th TMR, which I was very lucky to get - dealer has misplaced and only after visiting the said dealer found the title under two other badges.

Attached are some images. I have also included a puggaree and cap badge from the collection.

Here is another TMR badge though there is, I believe, so debate about that.
Shahl, looking at all the badges you have posted, you have a superb collection of rare SA badges, well done!!!
Cheers,
Alex

Tx Alex ... will share more as not much fun keeping them to myself. Wish I had more time to research, but that will come no doubt once my kids leave home and I retire

On a different note is the TMR debate regarding the badge potentially being the NZ Taranaki Mounted Rifes?

No, I think it was Transvaal or something like that, though I believe it's accepted as Transkei now. Andrew (and Steven) would be more knowledgeable than me though...

Hi Alex, very flattering. I have it as Transkei, but not to say that the same badge wasn't used by another unit in the commonwealth. This was done to save die costs. Shaldm, some nice items you have posted recently. Well done. Andrew
