RYR shoulder title
Picked up this "RYR" Shoulder title in gold A/A over the weekend.
I assume it's for "Royal Yeomanry Regiment"? But when was it worn, by which units and what cap and collars was it used in conjunction with? Thanks for any help Gordon

RYR
gordon, the royal yeomanry regiment was formed in april 1967 and consisted of 5 squadrons each drawn from an existing yeomanry regiment, a light aid detachment (reme) and a band. the squadrons were as follows, A (rwy)sqn, the royal wiltshire yeomanry, B (sry) sqn, the sherwood rangers yeomanry, C (ksy) sqn, the kent and sharpshooters yeomanry, D (nih) sqn, the north irish horse, HQ (wdg) sqn, the westminster dragoons, BAND (ic&cy) the inns of court and city yeomanry, the squadrons wore the capbadge and collars of its own squadron which kept its identity unique but all squadrons wore the ryr shoulder title as part of the royal yeomanry regiment. regards john
