Fantasy/Fake badges
Bought a lot of cap badges, most of which are fakes, some good, but at about 10p each worth the chance.
These three I think are fake. The Royal Regiment?? A fantasy badge? Extra large Grenadier Gds. Fake or foreign? Blackened brass Devon's. Looks like a gloss paint finish so assume fake, although lugs look good. Any help/comments appreciated before they go in the naughty box. Cheers John |

No replies so have added a few more photos.
Is the Devon's blackened badge good, should it have a slider. The lugs look fine to me. Is the large flaming grenade badge G Gds, R A, foreign? Assume the Royal Regiment Badge is a complete fantasy/ fake effort. Thanks John |

The Devons is a genuine collar badge. Perhaps a make do replacement for an OSD collar? Who knows...

The large grenade badge is not a cap badge ( grenade ) of the Grenadier Guards, however if it had 4 lugs or a hook it may have been a cape fastening.

The Devonshire Regiment badge looks to be a genuine 4th Battalion TF one to me.

The Royal Regiment is part of the title of the Royal Scots, who were originally titled The Royal Regiment of Foot. So possibly something to do with them.
