Question Essex Titles?

Gentlemen,
can anyone ID these Essex Titles? Rubber backed with white flock style lettering, approx 1.5"/3.5cm high! My guess cadets or possibly Home Guard, any idea of period of wear?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

Home Guard second phase 1950`s.

I have a number of Appendices "A" to Western Command Orders from the 1950`s giving Commisions,Promotions and Appointments for the Home Guard and it is interesting to see that a lot of acting Captains, Majors and Lt Cols were actually substantive 2/Lt`s

Default Essex 2nd Phase Home Guard.

Here are my 2nd Phase Home Guard Essex Badges

I suspect the Bn numbers go higher than 32, but yet to prove. Note the absence of 13th & 18th Bns. I suspected the 13th was missing because of unlucky 13, but then think the military may not think like that.

ESSEX/13. Alas nothing so poetic. 13th was a specialist (GPO) Bn which had a regional structure rather than county / local.

ESSEX/18 does exist but is rare, much more so than the others.

Units for the 30s series were 31 - 35. I have seen titles for 31 - 33 inclusive but yet to see for 34 and 35. Can anyone confirm their existence?

The tail number on my father's bomber in WW2 was 13. long story behind it, but the plane lived a charmed life being hit only twice by FLAK, and back in the air the next day. Sadly she was flown into the ground after the war when two pilots were getting in their monthly flight time and stayed on VFR instead of going to IFR when a sudden storm hit.
