Help with Signals Yeomanry Squadrons
Help needed folks
I'm trying to put together Royal Signals Yeomanry Squadrons badges worn on No2 Dress and I seem to be disappearing down rabbit holes. My question is which Squadrons still wear Yeomanry collar badges and buttons whilst wearing Royal Signals cap badge? Any help appreciated. Cheers Sean |

68 (Inns of Court & City Yeomanry) signal squadron. Based in Chancery Lane in the City.
Wear the old ICCY anodised collars (potentially new metal of late) |

Others were 41 (Princes Louise's Kensington) signal Sqn (v) and also 47 (middlesex Yeomanry) signal sqn. I believe these may now be amalgamated into other units and I dont know if the former collars are still worn.

That's great everyone.
So I think then I can safely say the following please correct me if I'm wrong. Collar badges 41 (Princess Louise's Kensington) Sqn 94 (Berks Yeo) Sqn 95 (Shropshire Yeo) Sqn 67 (QO Warwickshire & Worcestershire Yeo) Sqn 47 (Middlesex Yeo) Sqn 68 ( Inns of Court & City Yeo) Sqn 69 (North Irish Horse) Sqn 70 (Essex Yeo) Sqn 265 (Kent & County of London Yeo) Sqn And probably all the above wore their own buttons as opposed to Royal Signals buttons.....maybe. Look forward to your views. Next job is to get examples.....its never bloody ending this hobby. Regards Sean |

Well, you asked for Yeomanry and Princess Louise's Kensington was/is not Yeomanry.
But for the rest it is an impressive list.

Essex Yeomanry wear regimental pattern buttons rather than Signals.
They are now numbered 36 rather than 70 so you may need to change that depending on what date you are working to… though the tribal wear is the same for both. For ICCY I believe the collars are still a/a but the latest pattern has clutch pins for fitting rather than loops. |

Once you get involved in the antecedents of Volunteers/TA and trying to put a badge to them you quickly get lost.
I'm just trying to put a page representing collars and buttons worn by Signals TA units ...anodised. So thanks everyone for your help, I will do a separate post to see if anyone has any spares that I'm after. Thanks again as always for your help, knowledge and advice. Sean |

Back home and from my notes I think the following are contenders too:
80 (Cheshire Yeo) Sig Sqn. I have seen a/a buttons ascribed to them. Ian Kelly has some for sale. Not sure what pattern collars they wore. 5 (QOOH) Sig Sqn. Not sure if any regimental pattern items worn (and only ranks slides called out in Hodges) but a Yeomanry link. Sean, I may be able to help with some Essex items. I'll take a look and message you. Signals Yeomanry Squadrons
Dear Sapper 533.
Hope these two photos are of use to you. Took them some years ago and just found them in the archive. The bottom badges are Officers No 1 Dress. Not the best view I am afraid. Best wishes Chris Walker |
