RM SBS
A friend who is new to collecting and is putting together a collection of Royal Marines related badges has seen (on an auction site)
SBS Cap badges shoulder titles and collar badges, does the SBS have their own insignia or do they wear RM badges and the SC qualification badge? Many thanks Destro |

The post war SBS used to be a sole RM concern so the only distinct SBS insignia was the RM Swimmer Canoeist Badge worn on the Lovats. Every other item worn was standard RM Commando.
Since the SBS signed up to the UKSF model they have been open to all the services and so a very distinct SBS insignia, stable belt & beret were created. Do a search on here for examples. |

There was also a khaki version of the SC (1st, 2nd and 3rd Class) badge that was worn on BD before the Lovat uniform was introduced.
Swimmer Canoeists also wore the standard Low Level Static Line Basic Parachute Wings on BD and on other uniform (woolley pulleys, shirts, etc.) before the Special Forces wings were introduced. |

There were also Red on Blue and Khaki Drill for wear on the Stone tunic but alas I don't have any to show, always on the lookout though. Paddy |
