Default Need help with helmet insignia

Does anyone know what this insignia was for? I can't figure it out. It looks red, white, and red to me...

Mike,

I can't even see any semblance of an insignia!

But if it's Red/White/Red, then it could be The Duke of Wellingtons Regiment.

cheers,

Andy C

The insignia runs horizontally, and the helmet was issued to a soldier from Quebec. It was also made buy the Canadian lamp company.

It's under a repaint, so it's hard to see

Do you think it resembles this?

Marc

Hope it helps.

So the closest thing I've been able to find is a corps commander vehicle identification flag. It looks just like the insignia, but would it have also been used on helmets?

Hi Mike, You have likely reviewed Clive's reference, http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ORIGINAL-WWI-...item4adcccaf12? It is not listed there, but note that helmet flashes do not have a logical connection with the tac signs and are usually a completely different design.

I may have reviewed it. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

Unfortunately the entire range of Canadian/imperial helmet flashes has not been recorded. Only some records have been found at archives. The correlation between regimental unit helmet flashes has little or no connection to the tac signs identifying that regiment.
Mike, I think on FB you posted some details found on the inside of the helmet? They may be useful to further the analysis.
