Default Badge Collection

Hi all,

I'm a new member to this group, so hi firstly. My name is Jordine, I'm 18 and live in Lincolnshire.

My mother passed away at the end of 2013 and I am still in the process of emptying the house, which was previously my grandpa's (he was in the army).

Upon clearing the house I came across a cabinet with a range of badges, and I have no idea of their worth so was hoping you could help me!

The list of badges is as follows; [LIST]
Sultan of Oman's land forces (two designs, one has a round reef type thing, the other appears to be swords crossed)
Muscat regiment
Northern frontier regiment
Desert regiment
Jebel regiment
Oman Coast Regiment
Sultan of Oman's parachute regiment
Frontier force
Southern oman regiment
Western frontier regiment
Coastal security force
Western border security force
Mussandam security force
Firqa forces
Sultan of oman's artillery
Sultan of oman's armoured regiment
Sultan's armed forces engineers
Signal regiment
Sultan's armed forces training regiment
Force transport regiment
Force medical services
Force ordnance services
Electrical and mechanical engineers

If anybody could let me know about their worth, or where to sell them it'd be greatly appreciated

They usually stand in a wooden showcase type thing that is hooked to the wall

Thanks again,

Jordine

It's a shame to sell them. It was an important part of your Grandfather past. If I could suggest, maybe try and find out why he kept those badges. Maybe, once you learn a little more about them and why they have been kept so long you might just find a reason to hold on to them. Heck, maybe you will start a new hobby and be able to pass them on.

Hiya
Thanks for your reply

Unfortunately, there's no one left for me to speak to and enquire as to why he kept them for so long - my mum was his only child and she died the end of last year, and as far as I'm aware there's no other family.
