9 Commando
Imagination knows no bounds - this has to be a unique item to a veteran of WW1 who passed the Commando Course at Achnacarry (or maybe not)

A time traveller as well as he did it all in a Belgian battle dress made in 1961.

Neirynck-Holvoet is listed as a Belgian company so it is a Belgian made battledress.

You are right, the K.L. stands for Koninklijke Landmacht (Royal Dutch Army) though.

The mind boggles!
Mind you ... talking about time travellers ... it always baffles me how 'wee Wattie' Admiral Sir Walter Cowan was awarded a bar to his DSO with the Commandos in the Middle East, having won his first DSO in the Omdurman Campaign of 1898 - a real character! Naval liaison Officer No.8 Cdo, later POW, repatriated, rejoined Cdo forces as Tom Churchill's Liaison Officer. All this after eventful WW1 experiences too - Jutland etc, and having retired aged 60 in 1931. http://forum.commandoveterans.org/cd...list/1030.page http://www.hmshood.com/crew/biography/cowan_bio.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Cowan Mike |

Not only modern chevrons but for the wrong dress; those are meant for the stone KD shirt (No.9 dress?)
