Here are a few examples from film and TV from an auction lot sold a few years ago. The CP1 is from the classic Dad’s Army series. CP standing for Croft and Perry the show’s writers.

David,
The large display was sold at auction a few years aga. I do have single examples of some of them.

If you were collecting cloth insignia and patches, and been collecting for awhile then you would know what is FAKE or Genuine,

And anybody who starts collecting these and is not sure if they FAKE, can not see why they should give up collecting,

You learn something new every day

Before collecting any thing ,good reference books research research research make contact with other collectors and look at their items
Apart from militaria I also collect to one artist and spent a couple of years looking at his works before parting with any cash
May Save costly mistakes. but all collectors make mistakes no matter how experienced
My main comments were directed at the photos of the home guard items in Tim’s post

I can't say if the badges are genuine (they don't look it to me, but they're not something I know about), suggest you post them in the relevant section for the old Africa hands to comment on

Top is "C" Company, 1 Rhodesian African Rifles, 1981.
Right is Support Company.
Bottom is "A" Company, 1981.

Illustration Nos. 576, 578 and 574 in "Hondo A Rhodesian Military Handbook" by Mark Radford.
