These sliders with "ENGLAND" stamped on them are early restrikes, probably dating from the 50's and early 60's, Not often seen these days and may be worth collecting purely for their curiosity value.

Thanks for that, I thought the slider looked a little odd as I'd never seen one that shape before as well as having England stamped on it.

Thanks for the link, it's great to see all those variation and next time I see this badge I shall know what it is as I really didn't want to buy it as I didn't think it was a military badge.
