Default Tank Corps Badge - Real or a Dud?

Gents,

Is this badge any good? I picked it up amongst a lot of other badges.

Hello Mick,
I cannot answer your question except to say that all my Tank Corps have sliders and none are of this particular pattern.
Yours could well be a maker's variation.
Cheers, Tinto

Hi Mick,

I'm glad you posted this as I have seen a Tank Corps badge and also wanted to know if it was genuine; it also has lugs but the one in Wilkinson's has a slider.

Perhaps the RTR fundis can kill 2 birds with one stone.

Thanks

Mick,
this is an easy one to answer! It's wrong and should be slidered

In days of yore when the War Office authorised new badges they stated what metal it should be in and what fixing it should have. When that of the TC was 'Sealed' in October 1917 it was to be made in gildng metal with a vertical shank !

Thanks, Andy, that clears up my query also. Thanks also for the link to the previous discussion around Tank Corps badges.
