Looks very real to me Whoever due to the Picture I posted should take a closer look.

The Red Rose of Lancashire was the Badge of the Lancastrian King's. The earliest troop (the Bolton Troop)
was accepted in 1798, after renewing service in 1802 it was disbanded in 1814.The Furness troop was formed in 1819, it was Regimented
with the Bolton and Wigan troops in 1828 as the Lancashire Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry.

In 1900 with the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry, it formed the 32nd Company of the 2nd Battalion, and afterwards the 23rd
and 77th Companies of the 8th battalion Imperial Yeomanry.

It saw service in France and Flanders during the first World War and was converted to a Regiment of the RHA on the reorganisation
of the Territorial Army in 1920.

Check the link Nice Photographs and the Badge also shows.

the Badge goes for about $30.00US

Lancashire Hussars Light Yeomanry Badge

The Above Badge has differences then the one you posted, as the pine attachments are completely different?

Sorry I looked up the DLOY, when I should have been looking at Lancashire Hussars!

(The DLOY formed the 77th and 78th (DLOY) Medium Regts RA (TA), not RHA.)

Did they not absorb one of the KLR "Liverpool Pals" in 1918 also?

Re LH: 7 seeds around the central seed is usually the sign of a good badge.... 6 normally appear on copies.

Recces info may originate from Edwards "Regimental Badges" 4th edition 1966 which does say on page 200 under "P" Lancashire Hussars Battery 287th (1st West Lancs) Field Regiment Royal Artillery:
"It saw service in France and Flanders during the first World War and was converted to a Regiment of the RHA on the reorganisation of the Territorial Army in 1920."

The same statement is also in the 3rd Edition 1963 but in the 5th Edition simply refers to "on conversion to Royal Artillery"
A mistake by Major Edwards?

hi griff and all
mine has the 7 seeds and it is actually a substantial badge. good size and weight and thick strong brass. so i am to assume it is ok?
i notice mine has east west lugs were as some of the others have n/s and sliders. is this a concern or indication of a restrike or manufacturers differances?
thanks to the other guys for the historical input

After a fair bit of research some time ago, I could not find any evidence to confirm that the Lancashire Hussars ever wore a white metal cap badge.

A copy of part of a letter to me from Bob Smith in August 1989 about badges of the Lancashire Hussars is attached.

I am also attaching a couple of pages from the centenary booklet of 287th Medium Regt RA TA published in 1959

P.B.

P.S. TRT is referring to the fact that the 18th Kings Liverpools amalgamated with the Lancashire Hussars on 24th September 1917 to become the 18th ( Lancashire Hussars ) Battalion K.L.R.
