Manchesters badge good or dud help or advice please
Hi Guys
Picked up this Manchester badge this morning and I think it's ok but would welcome any opinions or advice. The badge seems to have crisp detail and shows some sign of polishing. I welcome all advice and opinions so please post what you think. Am I right in assuming that this badge could be from the WW1 period. Thanks Rob |

Hi Rob,
Your badge looks good to me, specifically the lettering on the scroll, crimp on the slider and quality of the striking. In terms of WW1 vintage, it could well be. It is the right "tram conductor's badge" pattern which was in use from 1898 to 1923 (1898 to about 1903 would have had lugs instead of slider). Cheers, Ian. |

Hi Ian and Andy
Thanks for the thumbs up on the badge. I paid £5 for the badge do you think the price was ok, I thought it was ok as I'm guessing this isn't a particulary scarce badge to find. Cheers Rob |

Hello Rob, I can't speak for Ian and Andy but IMO £5.00 is a bargain. Its a genuine badge with all of the classic features of a goodun, who could ask for more.
Happy hunting Dave |

Rob, a little rubbed in places but worth £8-15! So you are certainly not out of pocket
