Default A little help please

Hello,
I know this is a badge forum, but i am after some help and i know there is a lot of knowledge out there.
I'm trying to find out if my Grandfather served in the trenches in WW1.
Im unable to get to the TNA to see medal rolls and service records etc.
i've traced him through Army Lists and the Gazzette, quite easy because he is the only Officer with the surname Walker in the Yorkshire Dragoons. It says on the Army List that he was attatched to 9 West Rid Regt as Adjt in July, i,ve a copy of the war diary from them but they do not list Officers posted in or out!
The only medal card i can find for him is dated march 1919 and does not list the War medals on it, this date co-insides with Gazzette that says he was dicharched due to ill health, so from this i thought maybe he was Adjt of the HQ 9 West Rid Regt back home. But the other day we found a large Discharch cert with britania and coat of arms etc on it and it says 'Capt William Walker Yorkshire Dragoons served with honour and was disabled 'IN the Great War'
invalided from the service 28th March 1919'
Does this mean he served overseas or did soldiers serving at home get this as well? Also if he did serve overseas, there is no Medal card for the War medals?

Any help in this 'final chapter' of my Grandfathers military history will be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

Hello, thanks for your reply.

I already have the medal card that is on the National Arc site, i got it from Ancsestry.co.uk its under William Walker york drgns or something like that, thats the one that says march 1919 and has no war medals on it, the other medal card is a sergant trumpiter, not him.

But thank you anyway
