Default 3 CLY WITH BACKING COLOURS

I got this badge like this .Is this correct to have a backing like this and where would it be worn like this?What period is it with lugs?

They are not backing colours for a badge.

In my time with the regiment up to 1961 they were worn on the epaulettes by all ranks of 3/4 CLY. I still retain mine.

The colours are the Earl Of Dunraven's racing colours.

The Earl was the first Colonel of the Sharpshooters.

PS. The colours were also those used on the regimental Stable Belt.
