Shepshed LDV club buttonhole badge
Whilst sorting out my Leicestershire badges I found this buttonhole badge to the Shepshed LDV club number 298, the maker is someone from "B'ham" but I can't quite make out the name.
Does anyone have any information on this badge, was it post WWII? Comments welcome. Rob |

It is a rare badge and was an early LDV/HG badge made in summer 1940. The full story is in my book (plug): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Round-...1659586&sr=8-4

LDV badge
Thanks for your comments on this little item, I love the design, a bit over the top maybe, but it did give an idea as to what their thoughts were in 1940.

Until I saw it in ARPCDHG's excellent book I wasn't convinced it was a 'genuine' badge. Unfortunately, I can't stop seeing a monkey wearing a back to front baseball cap.

LDV badge
The skull wearing what looks like a Great War German helmet is not that well executed (no pun) and I thought it was a monkey for a start.
I often wonder with numbered badges what happened to the rest of the batch. Rob |
