Default Gordon Highlanders Sporran

Hello,

Are there any Gordon Highlanders experts out there?

The attached photos are of what I think is an officer's sporran for the 5th (Deeside Highland) Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, but I have never been able to confirm this identification. This Bn wore the same uniform from 1876-1908 and did not adopt the full Gordon kit until becoming a TF Bn in 1908. The Gordons Museum does not answer my email.

I would be grateful if anyone with knowledge in this area could comment.

Mike

Mike,

Sorry I cannot help, a lovely item.

I am sure you have a copy of Grierson but that is of no help either.

Do you know Charlie Claydon of Bluebell Militaria, might be worth contacting him.

P.B.

P.B.,

I do not know Charlie Claydon, but I do know his Bluebell website. I shall introduce myself and ask him my question.

Thank you for the lead.

Mike
