Default Queen Victoria Rifles

Hi all, my name is Tim, I will confess straight up I am:
1) a newbie with British cap badges
2) a recovering German Militaria collector

I stopped collecting German stuff a while ago due to the plethora of fakes now abounding the market. That said, I am a writer, and I am writing a fictional account of a Tommy in WW1 - in the QVR. I do have a connection, my grandfather served in the QVR in 1918.

I am currently in France/Belgium doing some research and I impulse bought a QVR cap badge in Ypres. I can see from posts that there are fakes about, and so would like your expert opinions on what I purchased. I know, I broke all the rules in buying with little or no knowledge, but I did. I think with my Grandfather serving, I got a bit carried away.

So any help would be much appreciated.

PS I haven't been able to download clear pictures, so had to use my webcam, I realise there might not be enough detail to say either way.

Cheers, Tim
