Default RAF Flight Refuelling wing

Hi there guys

There is an FR (Flight Refuelling) wing for sale on Ebay. The guy selling it says that it is an unofficial prototype that was made but not accepted in the 1950s. Does anyone have any knowledge on the possibility that this wing may have been considered in the 1950s?

Kind regards

Doug

Hi Doug,

That's the first time I've ever seen or heard of one, and have never seen anything about it in any of the reference books (not that there are many anyway) or RAF websites. It looks genuine, but before I would shell out that much (I'm not going to anyway), like you, I'd like to be 100% sure.

I think the only way of finding out would be to contact the RAF at the MoD and try to get a definitive answer.

David

Thanks guys for your input. I am not in the market for RAF wings but am interested in histories of all Commonwealth aircrew wings. It is a huge amount of money for something that may or may not be kosher. Will be sticking to RAAF wings only!

Regards

Doug
