Default South Australian Imperial Bushmen

What insignia did the South Australian Imperial Bushmen wear during the Boer War?

It is difficult to answer the question of what insignia they wore when they first left South Australia, possibly just a button on the side of the slouch hat with the brim held up by a string loop. Possibly a WM button (standard QVC coat of arms) made by Shierlaw Adelaide, one of the rarer makers. There is a famous picture of Breaker Morant which you can see online with this type of loop. When they got to South Africa, they wore unofficial hand-cut brass badges as in the attached scans.
