Air Bomber brevet
Again, thoughts welcome...
A similar half wing is pictured in Russ Huff's "Wings of WW2" p 136. BR, Dominique. |

Oh boy....I know other wing guys won't agree with me. I don't like it. I have never seen any photographic proof of anyone ever wearing it. These are common wings. If they are so common than it begs why there is no proof of them ever being worn during wartime? It also does not help that on the Scully web site you can see them. If it is a cheap purchase than fine. I know the seller on ebay and vouch %100 for him. If so done wants to show a wartime pic of it being worn. I will be happy to change my opinion.

Wingnut, I know we have long differed in our opinions of these wings, both on and off the forum, but I must disagree with the comment about the Scully Website. YES they do picture this pattern of wing there, as still being available. I even went as far as to purchase one of their offerings, an Airgunner. It is very different in construction from these paper backed pieces. I'm still of the opinion that these may very well be good badges. HOWEVER nothing is certain until proven or disproven.

100% authentic but post-war.

Post war.
Is there any evidence of those being worn after 1945?

I've had post-WWII uniforms with those wings attached. The same type wing as seen in the other thread.

1945?
According to some statement these badges would be of 1945 manufacture...

That would make sense.

Still sticking to not an authentic wing. But you can teach an old dog new tricks. I will wait for that photo of a crewman wearing one. I can wait to become a believer and eat crow at the same time. Either way, happy collecting. Wing collecting is a great past time.

I still wonder if they're fakes.....what about my similar brevet, with RAF instead of RCAF? Only one I've ever seen? Couldn't have been a tailored example?
