Australian Army colour patch
Hi
I would greatly appreciate help in identifying the following colour patch worn on a slouch hat. Cheers John Australian Army colour patch.jpg |

If it is a scarlet overlay it is Army Recruit Training Centre.
Mid green over yellow appears to be the training series. |

Looks like the centre is brown to me if so then originally the 1st Training Group which became Regional Training Centre South Queensland. Obsolete now. Regards Glenn

From Phil Blackwell's book (Australian Army Unit Colour Patches 1987-2008) its TRG2007 which is 1st Recruit Training Battalion and later renamed to Army Recruit Training Centre.

I had trouble deciding if the overlay was scarlet or mid brown. Since my chart indicated the patch with the mid brown overlay was a "Reserved" patch, I took a punt on it being an "in use" scarlet overlay, hence my conditional statement of "If it is a scarlet........". Hi
Thanks to everyone who replied to my question. One of the many joys of belonging to a forum such as this one is the support you get from fellow members. The centre also appears red to me. Cheers john |
