Hello Brian,
You know what, just thinking about dates and the Carbineers, I don't think I've ever seen a Kings Crown example with marks prior to 1903, so with sixth cycle Birmingham marks that would be a date letter "d" but, I'll have to sit down and think more about that!

I am far from an expert as far as date and makers marks go, just used one I found on the web and it gave me that result.
