Default Id Formation sign on Helmet? Chaudiere?

Hello,

I had pictures of this helmet. Badge-shaped shield, blue white and red. Anyone knows ?
Is that it could match the Régiment de la Chaudière ?
It also has a white band type Beach Group.
The helmet was found in Normandy.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Jean-Charles

I might be wrong but to me it looks more like a German trishield.

Hello Jean-Charles,

I am not sure what the identity of the Shield is, although my first inclination was what 48th posted - German Tri-Shield.

What I can however state IMHO is that the Blue-White (Silver)-Red (Scarlet) is not the Chaudière colour configuration. This Blue colour has been erroneously attributed by a select few to the Chaudière.

I have conducted research at the LAC and Chaudière Museum and to date I have never found references to a BLUE colour, whereas there is considerable references to the Maroon Colour. The correct and only attributed colour configuration for the Chaudière is Maroon-White(Silver)-Red (Scarlet). This colour combination finds itself in all things Chaudière including the Helmet Flash, CFSC, Flags, Shoulder Titles and Archival references.

Best Regards,
Mike

Hello,

Thank you for your answers. I thought maybe a variant of the badge Régiment de la Chaudière, taking some liberties to achieve their badge.
