Default Glamorgan Artillery Volunteers.

A recent pick up, always glad to add such to my collection. A short lived unit I think, but I am still researching them.

I tried a search Kevin but only get this thread!

However if I enter Glamorgan I get lots of threads and found this one http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ight=Glamorgan which has the badge you show, so I assume that is the one you refer to. Must be a scarce badge.

Thanks as always for your help.

That's the thread. I have more information on the unit and must update it. I should have added that the badge shown is of course an officers' badge.
The Glamorgan Militia badge is actually the scarcer of the two and I never did get around to posting the other volunteer artillery helmet plates I have. Must do that too.

Hi Kevin,

If you can post any of their history, that would be great as Bryn Owen's book seems a bit vague on their chronology?

Thanks Kev,

circa 1880 to 1908 for the Glamorgan Artillery Volunteers. The form of the makers mark is that for circa 1893.
