Default Middlesex Regiment Officers Silver Badge "F&S" Hallmarked Birmingham 1909.

Has anyone any comments re. this badge please?
Now I have it in hand the manufacturer and hallmarks don't appear to be very crisp.
The badge is fitted with short lugs rather than long, I'm not aware of this design with "MIDDLESEX" scroll being worn in silver as a collar badge, only as a cap badge.
Reassure me please, or let me down gently.

Aha, so it was you who added £14 to my bill.

Not very good quality IMHO, the scroll with " Albuhera " looks a bit naff.

Little flaws noticeable at the joins of the ALBUHERA and MIDDLESEX scrolls on the front of the badge, not on the back (£88).

Okay, well, I think £88 is a very good price these days.

It didn't seem bad - as far as I can see extremely dubious "sterling silver" and "silver plated types" abound, with asking prices from around £30 but usually £50-ish and as high as £150.
Good hallmarked silvers seem to be around the latter price.
I suspect I may only have acquired this badge because a certain forum member who shall remain nameless but whose initials and age are "GB64" had his sights set elsewhere and took a low passing shot at this badge...........

Hello Leigh.I will pass no comment about if your badge is original or not. However I agree with your opening comments on the badge.Andy has also made a comment about the quality. It is in my Humble opinion a poor quality casting. What you need here is a forum member to post an example from around the same point in time to see how they compare. all the very best Gary
