19th PWO Hussars Good or bad
19th PWO Hussars
I have been mulling over this badge looking at others on the forum. IMO nice colour front and toned to the rear the lugs have been shaped as if worn but this as I said is driving me potty. Would appreciate others feelings on this item. Regards Stephen |

Im not sure but the scroll, and the letter H looks a bit ropey. Not sure about the lugs either. I hope I'm wrong though.

A brief glance at it's reverse suggests to me that it is of far more recent manufacture, if you bought it as an original badge, my thoughts would be to simply get a refund.

I have not spent out much on this badge I have had it in my pending draw for some years just cane across it again last week. I bought it in a job lot of items I had thought the metal to be nickel Imo, but was unable to decide either way good or bad. I had looked any numerous examples on the forum and still could not make up my mind . Glad for the forums knowledge. What are the glaring problems I failed to see? regards to all Stephen |

Stephen,
There are a few threads on the forum about this badge. Off top of my head voiding between elephant’s body and tail should extend much higher up. The East loop should be fixed at the point the trunk intersects the tusk (or thereabouts). Also as this is a Victorian badge the loops are wrong as they have ‘feet’. From the colour it also looks like someone may have had a go at chemically ageing your badge. Cheers, Luke |
