Hello Oliver, COTC contingents that did not have a specific badge were to wear the "universal pattern COTC Cap Badge". This is included in several orders and dress instructions between 1943 and the authorization of the OAC distinctive contingent badge.

Clarification, the generic badge was reported to have been worn after 1943. If you are asking about the badge worn in the 1920's, there was no generic COTC badge.

Hello Oliver, There was no generic COTC badge until 1943, and according to the COTC files the badge was bronze. It was worn until replaced by the second pattern OAC badge.
