Service chevron 1918
In january 1918 ( AO 4 of 1918)chevrons for service overseas were authorized for wear on the service dress jacket. These were red if earned before 31st December 1914, and blue if earned at a later date. they were of worsted embroidery 1/4 inch in wide, with arms 1 1/4 inches long, worn inverted on the right forearm. The first granted in the date the recipient went overseas, and additional forearm were granted for each successive aggregate periode of 12 months outside the united kingdom. they were never really popular, and their wear was discontinued in september 1922 (AO 434 of 1922) service chevron 1944 in febrary 1944 (AO 19 of 1944)service chevrons were autorized for wear on the service dress jacket and the battledress blouse. they were printed in red on khaki and had 3/16 inch wide and 1/4 inch long. they were inverted on the right forearm. one chevron was awarded for each year of service. from "the dress of the royal artillery" by D. alastair CAMPELL cheers |

Wound stripes 1916
In august 1916 (AO 249 of 1916) wound stripes were authorized for wear on service dress jacket. these wre of gold russia braid N°1, two inch in length, seven perpendicularly on the left sleve of the jacket to mark each occasion when wounded. if more than one was worn the additional stripes were placed at intervals of 1/2 inch, they were dicontinued in 1922 (AO 434 of 1922) wound stripes 1944 in february 1944 (AO 19 of 1944) wound stripes were authorized for wear on service dress jacket and battledress blouses. tehy were of narrow gold braid 1 1/4 inches long worn as in 1916. one red rayon lustrous stripes could be worn to the rear of the first gold stripe if wounded in previous wars ; from " the dress of the royal artillery" by D.ALASTAIR CAMPELLE |
