Default Beyond all hope when...

You know you are probably beyond all hope when, whilst watching television, you do not even ralise you are not following the plot, action or dialogue, simply because you're far too busy concentrating on the historical inaccuracies, and trying too hard to see the insignia/uniforms:

Post-war QW&CSR cap badges?
1916 headgear (trench caps and Brodies) in 1914?
Officer's collar badges ID?..

And when you're being subjected to constant threats of violence for continually chirping "That's not right, it should be....."

Ah... fond memories of my childhood listening to my dad ridiculing the scenes playing out before us through our first colour television set (a 'Murphy', by the way):

'You don't march like that... he's not a soldier, look at the state of 'im... you can see he's never worn a beret in his life... they're American tanks, we never 'ad those...' ad infinitum.

I loved every minute and would have them all back in the blink of an eye
