Default Helmet insignia

Can anyone please identify this helmet insignia? It appears to have two Vs rather than the more conventional W.

I would agree with Simon but the word Second above it has me stumped as it's not a word usually associated with Wardens or the Posts from which they operated.

It is Warden - I've seen them done like this before - just a fancy way of doing it.
