Hello Rusty

As far as I can make out, the first button is for the Essex Regiment, the button with the dragon and 'China' above is for the Royal Berkshire Regiment and the one with the tiger, rose and laurel wreath is for the Royal Hampshire Regiment. The last button seems to be a 'general service' pattern for Australian military forces.

The others all appear to be not British or Commonwealth as far as I can see but I expect someone here will be able to help.

Roger

Default Military buttons

Thank you Roger. You have been a great help. I want to get as many recognised as possible as I want to get them framed. That way they can be handed down to grandkids. My father accumulated these from the war.

Another one I can ID - black button, crown over eagle is RAF.

The eagle with spread wings (fifth one down I think) is USA but I don't know which arm of service - air force/army/navy and so on.

I think the swan button may be civilian.

You also seem to have a civilian railway button but I can't ID that one either.

Numbers 2, 3, & 4, are I think either French or Belgian.

Hi there,

Button nos. 8 - "CHINA" over a Dragon, is the Border Regiment, not the Royal Berkshire Regiment.
(sorry Roger - probably the first and only time I will get to correct you )

Cheers

Ian

Quite right Ian, just another senior moment I'm afraid. I seem to be having all too many of these at the moment! I blame the weather!
