Default Finnish Ranger Wing badge?

Good morning

This came to me recently as part of a swap, a label on the reverse says “Finish [sic] Ranger Wing” but I would like to confirm that before offering it for swap or sale. The elements of bear, sword and corn(?) appear on Finnish Border Guard insignia so it may be from them, perhaps a qualification badge? It measures 4 inches across and, as always, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Once ID’d it will be offered for swap or sale, initially on the Forum.

Thanks for looking

Graham

I thought it was a bear, although I can see what you mean.

That would actually make sense, unlike my first thought. Blaming it on too much blood in my caffeine stream!

An update on this: a Finnish collector has just helped confirm the ID of this badge - it was worn over the right breast pocket by Finnish Border Guards, although he does not know the dates of use (that he was unfamiliar with it suggests it has been out of use for a good number of years).

So that's that mystery solved - off to the 'Borders & Customs' swap box it goes.

Thanks again for all comments.
