Who, What, Where, When? #3
Would appreciate assistance in IDing this unit, please?
FSCs and a Torin cap being worn: Knee-length trews, and a bicycle (just visible): Some splendid arm badges and knots: Are those the letters 'RVC' just legible along the bottom edge of this badge? ...and what is this cap badge?: Many thanks, JT |

I make the lettering at the bottom of the "big badge" as "WE SERVE"
Edit: Possibly with POW's feathers above. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 08-09-17 at 10:11 AM. |

Excellent, that explains what looks like "RN" in the centre of the badge & the small cross insignia.
What would the cap badge be? |

The cap badge was the normal SJAB white metal one, the early type without the lower scroll.

Some pictures of Crewe members of the unit, including the Villiers Russell twins who drowned after the sinking of HMS Formidable.
I always thought that for annual training members were attached to a ship but perhaps not always. P.B.
