British Officers’ Peak Caps of the Second World War
British Officers’ Peak Caps of the Second World War
This book (written by a Forum member?) is advertised for sale on the Forum. Has a member written a review of it? If so I should very much like to read the review. Thanks. Mike |

I have the book and I think it stands largely on its own in regards the subject and is a worthwhile addition to anyone who collects caps and/or the badges seen upon them, though it is the caps that the book studies in detail. It contains a short history of caps as the opening chapter, then a detailed examination of army officers cap, forage and service dress as worn during WWII, and also has sections on dating them, technical details of the caps, and does the same for RAF and Navy caps as well. Also has sections on makers marks/labels including examples from earlier and later than WWII periods and more as well. A must have in my opinion.

It is written by a forum member, Oli (Ocad) who is known to me on other forums, who also runs the Brodie helmet and its derivatives website and some other related websites, a very helpful and knowledgeable person IMO.

I was fortunate enough to buy one of the caps shown in the book, a circa WWI staff officers forage cap.
