Hi Bryan,
Not sure who wears this but it is not an RN capbadge of any kind. Pete |

naval cap badge?
Thanks Pete, it is certainly is a weird badge what with that wavy fog symbol in the centre.
With the QC I thought it might be a naval badge but no idea if perhaps a Commonwealth navy, its not Canadian I am pretty certain. Be nice to be able to ID it, perhaps someone will know....maybe its a made up fantasy badge??? Bryan |

unknown, [possibly RN?] QC capbadge
Hi Bryan
Been trying to identify this badge for you but so far without much success. The wavy line design is familiar but I can't think where I know ir from. It seems a fairly modern design. I'm sure it will come back to me eventually! Pete |

Hello all !
From my deep sea hideout, here is my best info : - have a look in the book 'Heradry of the oceans' on p. 31 ; - pic no64 is exactly this wavy badge ... - ... with the title : CN MARINE ; - go to p. 19 to see the definition of badge no64 : - you see CN MARINE !!! (with female crown (!)) - now search the link to the author to ask what is CN MARINE ? (certainly related to CANADA .... ) All the best A+

CN is NATO country code for Comoros, the islands nothwest of Madagascar, who have a French colonial influence, so unlikely to have come from there.

So following that train of thought - if you go to this blog here: http://marineatlanticjourney.ca/2013...hes-come-true/
There is an image of a 14 year old wearing the captains hat, with what looks like a different badge with the same wavy lines in the middle of it. They have a twitter account/feed which shows similar pictures of a captains hat with the same bade (differing from yours with a large Golden wreath around the outside of it). So maybe its just a quick email to the company with a copy of your image now? |

PO with no wreath, Officer with a full wreath. Same format as most naval outfits. The CPOs, if they have them, probably have the thin wreath like the RN or RCN.

Thanks mates,
Cap badge might be Marine Atlantic Ferries, their company logo looks like the centre of the badge. I will try to find out.... "Marine Atlantic Inc. is an independent Canadian Crown corporation offering ferry services between the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia." I think your badge is Marine Altantique. Apparently the use of wavy lines is employed by non-armed service, i.e. naval, enterprises. I am posting a cap badge used by the Malta Maritime Authority - as can be seen, wavy lines are prominent. They are also utilised on epaulettes.
