RCN patriotic pin? sweetheart?
Little tri-colour stick pin, lettering arc measures 24 mm x 12 mm. I'm assuming it is Royal Canadian Navy. Not fancy enough to be a sweetheart, maybe, but it looks like someone thought enough of it to have a chain keeper on it. Anyone seen this before, can confirm/refute my suspicions, and have an idea of era? WWI? WWII?

David I think its a 2WW sweetheart pin.
I have several 2WW era RCN sweetheart pins & posted some of them in an earlier topic. I don't have the example you have shown but I have seen this pin in the past, but have not been lucky enough to obtain an example. I have one with similar enamelling & will attach a photo. RCN Bryan |

Thanks, Bryan. I found a pic from an old eBay listing, and what I thought was a bit of keeper chain is actually the chain for a little anchor that is missing from mine. Photo cheerfully stolen from my web search.

Hi David
I also have one with this type of chain, I have att'd photo. I could see the chain parting & whatever was attached to it becoming separate with the passage of many yrs! B |
