Since tomorrow is St Paddy's Day - Here are some QRIH badges
Since tomorrow is St Paddy's Day here I thought I'd post some badges with an Irish connection - in this case my Queen's Royal Irish Hussars badges!
Enjoy! Mick

St. Patricks
Many years ago I used to drink in a little country pub that was kept by a lovely Irish couple, the man had been in the Irish Guards and served in the Great War and possibly after.
He told me that when the partion of Ireland happened he was part of the ceremony of the hanging up of the colours of the Dublin Fusiliers, Connaught Rangers, Munster Fusiliers, Royal Irish Regt and the South Irish Horse. I have visited St Patricks Cathederal and seen the colurs hanging up . . ! I'm sure others have visited, but raise a glass to those gallant gentlemen who served in these Regiments for there none of them to raise a glass. Rob |
