It would certainly be interesting to take a close look at that jacket, you did not need to be a concerned about fakes and forgeries back in those days, one wonders what Roger has inside his jacket?

I seem to recall that this was in his early collecting days and, as you say, quite a few fakes.

But with a little experience gained from the forum, he..................

I don't know about inside his jacket but outside he has all the talent and appeal of a mouldy doughnut.

Alli, my teens were the early to mid-sixties. I was around when it all kicked off. Beatles, Stones, Animals, Them, Kinks, loads of real classy stuff, but The Who, no thank you. Keith Moon was a scream and John Entwistle was a class act, but the other two prats, Townshend and Daltry, I could not stand them or their music. None of the other bands I mentioned found it neccessary to resort to wrecking the stage to cover up for a singular lack of talent like that pair did. They're just over-rated numpties in my opinion. So yes Alli, definitely not a fan!!.

To be fair, The Who were Mods!!! I always felt sorry for Townsend....after all he had to compete with the likes of Hendrix and Clapton. I always thought that Townsend sounded as if he was falling downstairs trying to pluck his guitar!

Fair enough! I've always rather loved them but they were well past their heyday by the time I hit my teenage years. Apart from Quadrophenia, words can't express how much I love Quadrophenia-the music and the film. Went to see Les Mis(again) a few months ago and Phil Daniels was playing Thenardier. The 13 yr old me was bursting with excitement.

Glad you said "pluck" and not "play".

Especially for hoot:

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Call me an old fuddy duddy but the Kinks sure could write lyrics!

I am pleased that Alli is prepared to stick to her guns.......good on you Alli! As Hoot says, each to their own and that is as it should be! After all, how many other people would have my devotion to Hendrix........my wife tends to leave the room when I put Hendrix on the deck. There again, I am a big fan of 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep!'.......a classic if ever there was.
