SAS Beret for dating
This beret fell in my lap earlier today and is outside of my collecting field. Can I please ask my more learned fellow members if this is a current issue or holds any age to it? I can see it's a private purchase and the manufacturer is by appointment to Her Majesty.Could I also ask what value it may hold ?

No idea on value, the berets without the badge are quite cheap because you only see them unused. No signs of any wear on it, possibly a put together, or just never used much if at all. That said, it still has an appeal as a display item but I don't think it has any great value. You see similar on ebay fairly often for about £30.

I'd wager that beret and badge are no more than a couple of years old.

Of course, it is technically still a SAS beret, but not very collectable as never issued to or worn by a serving member of the Regiment. Cheers, Johan |

Thanks to you both for your comments, well it was £15 on a Help for Heroes stall at a local car boot this morning , the ex airborne medic had a number of interesting items various service people had donated so at least the money went to a most worthy cause. It's outside of my Airborne focus so I've listed it up on eBay and anything above the £15 I paid for it I will take back and donate to the man next week. Thanks once again gents Jim .
