Default MENTIONED IN DESPATCH 'BADGE'

hi all

except when they are affixed to an identifiable medal.....can theses little MID badges be identified when they are on their own, or do alot of counntry's use similar ones

im trying to view and compare a bunch, and do notice some differences, i.e. size, color, types of leaves/branches, etc....so i assume there may be a type of identification system

thanks, jim

Hi Jim
The problem with MiD oak-leaf emblems is that they were often made and supplied privately by tailors, so there are numerous different styles around. On their own there is no real way to identify them as far as I know. The main difference is the elaborate style from WWI compared to the more basic style of the WWII leaf.
Cheers,
Alex
