Default WW1 RE Dispatch Rider Badge being worn

I thought this photo may be of interest it shows a RE (Signal Service perhaps) soldier wearing a DR Wheeled Badge. The reverse is pencil dated 1917 and says 'aged 27' frustratingly no other details!

A different pattern of badge worn on the other arm on a greatcoat.

Great moustache!

Thank you .......... I wonder which tailor/supplier was meeting the demand: not the RACD as far as I can tell, but there are some missing pages from the record at Kew, so I guess we will never know.

Love, in A Call to Arms, lists dress regulations for the CEF which includes DR over a wheel for despatch riders.
