Designed by the Brigade Major and aka "the scalded cat". A better than average design for a post-War formation, I thought. Mike

That version is for 19th Mechanised Brigade 1997 - 2002.

The "flat top" variation is alleged to have been the way the patch was originally worn, was it in fact ever worn that way or was it produced that way, the intention being that it would ultimately form a pointed triangle when folded and applied to uniform? (I only have the "flat top" as an unworn patch).

Ta, I still wonder if the intention was to have a flat top on the badge, and if it was, why the change to a point?
That's the first time I've seen a uniform removed flat top, interesting.
The Bn I was in in the 70's was part of 19 Air Portable, but didn't wear the brigade sign (they didn't wear skill at arms, long service insignia or things of that ilk other than a few such as sniper badges,, so bling like brigade and div. patches didn't get a look in).
