Carmarthenshire ACF
Can this beaten up little item really be an early 1st pattern Carmarthenshire ACF sign? It's 47mm in width. The printed version is listed by John Waring as JW2/F20. Mike

I was a Camarthenshire Cadet in the mid 1970s.... I can not remember the arm badge? Just the new AA RRW POWFs in our blue berets.

Perhaps it was worn before your time? Printed and EonF versions of the ACF sign do exist - and are not infrequently misidentified by dealers as being the sign of South Wales District - the dragon on the latter sign has a curl in his tail and no "green, green grass of home" to stand on. Mike

Tim,
Thanks. I don't collect ACF items, but have the identical EonF sign, facing right. Mike |

Thanks. As Jerry says - not the same (but similar). I think the one I illustrated is from a different era. Mike

Rather obvious that it's not the same badge as your example is woven for a start, but it is the same generic design. I was in both the scouts and the cadets during the 70s & cannot recall wearing or seeing anything like this
